Second phase of roundabout construction to begin week of July 22 | Transportation
SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Transportation officials say the next round of construction on the new roundabout in Cape Girardeau will begin on the week of July 22.
According to MoDOT, the roundabout is being constructed at the Route W/Lexington Avenue/Kingsway Drive intersection in Cape Girardeau.
As work is underway, transportation officials say traffic on Lexington Avenue will be shifted toward Route W to allow the contractor to build the remainder of the roundabout from the closed portion of Kingsway Drive without impacting traffic on Lexington Avenue.
In addition to the closure on Kingsway Drive, lane reductions on Mount Auburn Road will remain in place. Access to the trail will be available through the parking lot.
Construction of the interior of the roundabout is expected to take around three weeks to complete.
