CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says Route A will be closed while crews replace a pipe under the road.

This section of road is located between County Road 253 and County Road 236.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

JEFFERSON CITY - MoDOT has added a text alerts so Missouri drivers can get urgent road information sent straight to their mobile device.

“Text alerts from our real-time traffic services, Kansas City Scout and Gateway Guide,  are popular in Missouri’s metropolitan areas,” said Matt Hiebert, MoDOT production manager. “Now motorists in the rest of the state can also benefit from these notifications.”

Just visit www.modot.org/eupdates to sign up for the service. You don’t even need a smart phone , according to MoDOT, just one that can receive text messages.

According to MoDOT, if you already have an E-update account, just login and add your provider information and cellphone number.

But if you’re new to E-updates, just create an account and choose which counties, routes and regions you want to know about.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The City of Cape Girardeau announced some schedule changes to their asphalt overlay project.

The asphalt overlay on William Street will now begin on Monday, November 19 and should last through Wednesday, November 21, weather permitting,

The city says William Street will stay open to traffic during road work, so drivers are asked to use caution and expect delays.

Additionally, the city says on Thursday, Nov. 15 Bernice Street from Fremont Street to Lakeshore Drive will be closed for paving.

Road work on Koch Street from Good Hope to Brink Streets began Nov. 14, as scheduled.

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says Route K will be reduced to one lane while crews install cameras on the signal arms.

This section of road is located in the turn lanes between Mt. Auburn Street and Kingshighway.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Thursday, Nov. 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says Route 61 (Kingshighway) will be reduced to one lane while crews make pavement repairs.

This section of road is located from I-55 to Lexington Road.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

This section of road is located between Route FF and Route E.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Friday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says northbound Interstate 55 will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction while crews mill and overlay the road with asphalt.

This section of road is located between Route 61 at Jackson and Route 61 at Fruitland.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Thursday, Nov. 8 and Friday, Nov. 9 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
