(KFVS) - The American Red Cross will launch its official Tornado App on Monday, March 4.

The Red Cross says the app will put lifesaving information right in the hands of people who live in, visit or have loved ones in tornado-prone areas.

The free app, available in English and Spanish, gives iPhone, iPad and Android smart phone and tablet users instant access to local and real-time information, so they know what to do before, during and after a tornado. The app includes a high-pitched siren and "tornado warning!" alert that signals people when a NOAA tornado warning has been issued in their area, even if the app has been closed. An "all clear!" alert lets users know when a tornado warning has expired or has been canceled.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Here are some closings in Cape Girardeau County due to winter weather.

These closings were submitted to us and may not be the only ones in the area. Please call your destination ahead of time and drive carefully if you must get out.

• The Cape Girardeau County Commission says the Administration Building closed at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 21 due to inclement weather. They say the County Courthouses in Jackson and Cape Girardeau are also closed at this time. Normal business hours for all locations will resume on Friday, Feb. 22.
• The St. Mary Catholic School Basketball Tournament has been canceled for Thursday night.
• West Park Mall will close at 5 p.m., but Macy's and JCPenney will stay open until further notice. For updates, you can call the individual stores: Macy's at 335-8595 and JCPenney at 334-2881.
